Artist Biography
Zoe Boston is an artist in almost every sense of the word. She was born in Los Angeles, raised in New York, and now lives in the Bay Area. Her inspirations come from God, life, love, music, and everything in between. Although she has been drawing all her life, she did not begin painting until she moved back to the West Coast in 2014.
Joyce Gordon Gallery and The Art of the African Diaspora presents, “The Light Bearers” an AOTAD satellite exhibit of paintings by Zoe Boston. “The Light Bearers” exhibition is a small collection of work that shines a glimpse of light on some of the beings that live in Zoe Boston’s world (including herself), their stories and what it means to be a bearer of light. Some are warriors, protectors of light, messengers and more.

Artist Statement
“I'm only calling it art to simplify the means of my expression. These pieces were birthed from the passions of life, living freely, being myself, and loving who I truly am. I use acrylic on canvas to express myself, and I continue to grow with each new piece. You are not just witnessing art, but viewing glimpses of my life journey. I look forward to being able to share them with you!”
